John Ridgeway
“I have a deep passion for technology, entertainment, design and continuing to explore how we bring about change with a single idea. TEDxNavesink is where all three passions come together.”
Originally from the Finger Lakes Region of Upstate New York John left the country and headed to the Big Apple city to pursue his passion for graphic design, fine art and new media relocating to the beautiful New Jersey Shore town of Sea Bright, New Jersey where he fell in love with the real Jersey Shore, met a Middletown girl and the rest is history. Commuting into Manhattan every day and coming home for a run on the beach seemed like a good work life balance. In pursuit of his passion as a graphic designer John was involved in the early days of Computer Graphics, Interactive Multimedia and the Internet helping AT& T Bell Laboratories, J.P. Morgan, Merrill Lynch, Chase, Vonage and other leading brands transform, disrupt, innovate and revolutionize their businesses with the technology and new media coming out of the Internet of Things.
Always wanting to learn more John went to school during the evenings to complete his BFA in Advertising and Graphic in 1994 at the School of Visual Arts and a Master of Science in Integrated Marketing from New York University in 2010 giving him a unique professional combination of interactive communication design, strategic business thinking and digital direct marketing. As a Digital Strategist, Strategic Account Director and Social Media Junkie John is currently working with Naviscent an agency based in Silicon Valley, California consulting with global brands conducting customer centric global research, design and engineering digital platforms that improve a the customer experience and the bottom-line for Fortune 500 companies. In his downtime, you can find John in the art studio working his craft to get into the next art show around Monmouth County, playing guitar with his garage band brothers, and still going for long walks on the beach in Sea Bright. John, his wife Donna and their family have resided in the wonderful small community of Fair Haven for 25 years on the ever changing Navesink River and have enjoyed every minute.
